Looking forward....
One way for anti-oppressive
social workers to contribute to social transformation
is to create, develop, and/ or support alternative social service organizations that
serve and are operated by members of particular
oppressed groups.

My hope in the coming year is to develop my leadership skills in my existing role as an intake worker with Child and Family Services by continuing to take on social work students and identifying and addressing service gaps in the community. I am enjoying my role as an intake worker and feel it is a good fit for my skillset. I have many opportunities to network with other community agencies and to collaborate with them.
I also intend on continuing to utilize the skills learned in the MSW program through my ongoing involvement as a board member with The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation. I continue to work on program development, fund development, strategic planning, and writing policy, none of which would be possible without having learned practical skills that the MSW courses provided me with.
Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio. I look forward to the opportunities that life has to offer and will continue on my path to leadership at work, at home and at play.
